This was one of those weekends where I wanted nothing more than to have some time to myself. When I am working I feel so confined in the small space and there is no escaping interaction with others. After nine hours of that, I wait to head out and be on my own. The minute I got back from LA, it seemed I had an endless list of social obligations, which meant the alone time was rare.
I enjoy spending time with my friends, however, there are moments I want to shut everyone and everything out and have no agenda. If I want to sit around reading the entire day or watching copious amounts of TV show, then I want to do that without being on a schedule.
As always, I spent my Saturday morning at the farmers market. I kept dreaming of my weekend while I stood around in the 40 degree temperature. Top of my list was cleaning my apartment and reading and writing and baking.
The rendezvous with the kitchen started because I had to bake another batch of Sri Lankan Fruit cake for the market and then there was no stopping me. The left over egg whites needed to be used up, which resulted in a Lime Angel Food cake with Pistachios
It seems I somehow hit pause at baking, therefore, there is not much to say, but there is a lot to show for my time in the kitchen.
